The Convergence of Compliance and
Technology

This primer is for compliance professionals seeking to
understand the underlying IT functionality so that it can
better work with IT to cost effectively implement workable,
adaptable solutions that provide consistent regulatory
compliance across the enterprise.
There are myriad regulations that govern business processes
and records handling practices. A close examination of those
requirements and their relationship to IT, reveals that
while there are many regulations, there are in fact a
limited number of IT functions that will address them all.
Some of those functions deal with process and work flow
management such as those required by Sarbanes Oxley Section
404 or the PCI DSS standards. There are others that deal
with historic records availability and integrity for
regulations such as SEC Rule 17a-3 and 17a-4 or HIPAA.
The work of implementing compliance solutions in a company
is greatly simplified when there is a set of these essential
IT functions in place and available to address the ever
changing compliance landscape.
This seminar will focus on identifying those essential
elements, their requirements, characteristics and
application.
